The Client
The Audi Forum Ingolstadt is Audi's flagship brand-experience destination, drawing visitors for factory and museum tours, exhibitions, events, dining, and an arthouse cinema. As more people ask AI assistants for practical details like opening hours and ticket prices, the Forum's presence in AI-generated answers has become a real visitor touchpoint. The engines already mentioned the Forum, but they didn't always treat audi.de as the source of truth.
The Ask
Could audi.de be established as the source AI engines rely on for the Audi Forum, rather than outdated third-party pages? The test case was concrete: Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and ChatGPT were all quoting a wrong, outdated admission price for the museum mobile, pulled from external sites. The goal was to make Audi's own content the citation AI engines trust, and lift the Forum's visibility along the way.
Steps Taken in Rankscale
- 01
Audit & Benchmark
agnosco.net used Rankscale to benchmark how the Audi Forum was already cited across Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and ChatGPT. That surfaced exactly where outdated third-party sources were outranking audi.de, including the incorrect museum admission price.
- 02
Prompt Research & Setup
The team built 30 tracked prompts across two priority topic areas, mapping the real questions visitors ask about the Forum. A custom project dashboard brought citations and their sources into a single view.
- 03
Track & Optimize
Over six weeks, agnosco.net tracked citation performance and evaluated every source both quantitatively and qualitatively. Target pages were then optimized so the engines pulled their answers directly from audi.de.
Results
- Citation share on the optimized pages jumped 39.7%, rising from 13.1% to 18.3%, while their raw citation appearances climbed 28.0% (from 1,228 to 1,572). The pages the team prioritized became markedly more visible across all three AI engines.
- audi.de became the dominant cited source, with its overall citation share growing from 36.5% to 43.2%, an 18.4% gain. Audi's own domain now supplies a far larger portion of what AI engines say about the Forum, and that advantage compounds with every new query.
- The factual record is now correct at the source. AI systems retrieve the accurate admission price for the museum mobile directly from audi.de, replacing the outdated figures that had been circulating from third-party sites. The Forum is cited more often and, just as important, cited correctly.
“The GEO project clearly demonstrates the added value that targeted content optimization can bring to AI search systems. As a result, the Audi Forum Ingolstadt is now cited as a source much more frequently, and our information is accurately and directly sourced from audi.de. This not only boosts our visibility but also strengthens our role as a reliable primary source.”
